Most of our programmes operate on a part-time basis. Usually 1 or 2 days per week. The overall length of the programme is dependent on the level of qualifications the learner is trying to achieve and the level of behavioural change required. Part Time study allows learners to use the learning from our programme in other areas of their life, and also means that where they are engaged in education, the benefits of their improved behaviour can be noticed across the curriculum, increasing still further the level of their potential achievements. Programmes are available for young people in years 7 through to 13 and also for young people aged 19 -24.
Where learners are on programmes which form part of their overall curriculum (for example where they also attend school), we work in partnership with the referral/educational establishment to ensure that all parties can recognise and celebrate the learner’s ongoing achievements and that where issues arise, they can be addressed in partnership.
Our maximum group size is usually 20. Most groups, particularly for younger students are smaller than this. However each group will be coached/tutored by fully qualified coaches/tutors. All staff are fully CRB checked.
We work in partnership with all referring organisations to ensure that only young people who are appropriate to our programmes are accepted. This ensures that we retain our high levels of success and also that young people receive appropriate education. This approach also means that we are able to fully understand your objectives in referring your young person to us. It also allows us to prepare our programme to meet specific needs.
We recognise that flexibility of approach is required when dealing with particularly sensitive groups and have built this into the approach. It is likely then that each programme will be different, even where they are delivered for the same customer group.
Our delivery is always developed to be as practical and active as possible. The majority of our Level 1 provision, in particular our Right Track for Life Programme, has been developed to be entirely non-text based in order to encourage learners to understand their learning styles and abilities outside the classroom.
As learners progress through the levels, more text based material may be introduced in order to ensure that awarding body standards are reached. We endeavour to keep this to an absolute minimum at all times in order to ensure that learners are rewarded for their practical skills and competences as this is what they are most likely to be judged against in a working environment.
