Right Track Social Enterprise
Right Track Social Enterprise is a 100% non-profit making company. It was set up in October 2009 with the specific aim of improving the quality of life and prospects of disadvantaged young people and children, using sport as the delivery medium. It uses the spirit and values of the game of rugby and sport in general as a tool to teach disadvantaged groups the life skills they need if they are to be healthy active citizens capable of making a positive contribution to society as adults. Right Track Social Enterprise focuses on young people in school Years 6, 7, 8,9,10 and 11 who: - Are ‘at risk’: of being excluded from school,
- Are either in, or on the edge of, the criminal justice system,
- Are school phobic,
- Are overweight or obese,
- Are being bullied or are fearful,
- Have low self esteem and low aspirations,
- Have anger management issues and excluded from school.
Through its sister company Right Track Academy it has developed an intensive 8 to 16 week scheme that incorporates “on the field” and indoor active learning. The programme will cultivate the participant’s awareness to their particular issues and in developing the tools to overcome these issues they will also work toward attaining OCN accredited qualifications. Right Track Social Enterprise will also encourage family participation through open access ‘friends and family’ sessions once a term.
